To recognize the work of the men and women of the Mini-Station, the South Street Headhouse District (SSHD) and the Friends of the Mini-Station hosted a Thank You and Appreciation event on January 30, 2014 at Brauhaus Schmitz. The crowd was filled with representatives from the business community, as well as the Queen Village, Bella Vista, and Hawthorne neighborhood associations. Councilman Mark Squilla and Councilman James F. Kenney, as well as a representative for State Senator Larry Farnese, were on hand to accept Certificates of Appreciation from the Philadelphia Police Department and to acknowledge the successful working relationship between the 3rd District, the Mini-Station, the SSHD business community, and the Alliance representatives to create a safe environment for locals and visitors alike.
